27/09/2007 New Release - Don Radar Quintet, Odyssey
This is truly an international band. Don Is from California and his credits include: Featured Jazz trumpet soloist with Woody Herman; Count Basie; Maynard Ferguson; Benny Carter; Terry Gibbs; Louis Bellson; and a long stint in the Hollywood film and TV studios in a career that began in 1959. Has been based in Sydney, Australia since 1994. He has recorded six cd's under his own name. Two of them in Sydney, one in Christchurch and the rest in Los Angeles. Craig Walters is from New Zealand (Duneden) and has been working and teaching in Sydney for over 20 years. Gerard Masters is from Christchurch, NZ. He graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium and has become one of the best Jazz pianists in the country. Brendan Clarke is from Canberra and is a very busy player on the Sydney scene. Tim Firth is the youngest member and from Ryde, NSW. Tim's an exciting young player!! Tony Azzapardi (track 3 and track 7) is a busy freelance percussionist in Sydney.
